Albert Marquardt, 73 of DeLeon Springs passed away November 4, 2024. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 27, 1951 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Albert moved from New Jersey and lived in Florida for 16 years. He retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked for 35 years. Albert enjoyed reading and listening to all genres of music, most especially blues music. Albert had a close group of friends and always made friends wherever he went. He loved being with his family and was especially proud of being a grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret Stanton Marquardt and is survived by daughter Diana Marquardt; grandson Dylan Higgins; brother William Marquardt, Jr (Mary); nephew William C. Marquardt II (Kristen); great-niece Helena Marquardt and great-nephew Liam Marquardt. Albert will be deeply missed by many, but his legacy will live on through his loving family.
Albert will be cremated, and a private service will be held for immediate family. The family asks that friends and extended family remember Albert in their own way, cherishing the many joyful memories he leaves behind. Your thoughts, prayers, and remembrances are deeply appreciated during this time of quiet reflection and remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at www.ihelpveterans.org (https://www.ihelpveterans.org/), honoring his life and commitment to supporting our nation’s veterans.
