Barbara Lea Eiden, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, at her home, on December 15, 2024, in Orange City, Florida. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and became a Florida resident in 1975. In 1978, Barbara and her family embarked on an extraordinary journey, moving to Saudi Arabia, where they lived for five years before returning to the United States and settling once again in Florida. A dedicated entrepreneur, Barbara owned several businesses throughout her life before retiring in 2017 and relocating to Volusia County. Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Essie Lundergan; her husband, Louis Eiden; her brother, John Lundergan; her daughter, Dawn Dowling; and her granddaughter, Shantelle Nicholle Eiden. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters: Denise Criss; Rhonda Murphy (Sean); and Susan Key (Chas). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Chris Robichaux (Lacey), Erik Robichaux (Sarah), Courtney Loftis (Herb), Christine Brown (Jake), Rebecca Criss, Joshua Dowling, Carlene Murphy, Jessica Gosse (Roger), Aleasha Lewis (Bree), Tres Key, and Morgan Key. She also leaves behind 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She shared an undeniable love with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and took immense pride in their lives. A creative soul at heart, Barbara enjoyed playing BINGO, making quilts, and painting—pastimes that reflected her vibrant spirit. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Deland on January 11, 2025 at 10 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Deland. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May the love she shared continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
