Benita Nieves

Benita Nieves, known to many as Nellie, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Orange City, Florida. She was 92 years old and a resident of Deltona. Nellie was born in Rincón, Puerto Rico to Santiago Diaz and Francisca Muñiz.

She worked for many years as a Designer Shoe Sales Executive and was dedicated to her career. Nellie is survived by her sons, Anthony Nieves and Frank Nieves, and by her grandchildren, Tomas Nieves, Roberto Nieves, and Natalie Nieves. She was predeceased by her husband, Francisco Nieves, who passed away earlier this year.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 359 New York Ave W, DeLand, FL. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange City. A reception will take place immediately after at La Strega Bistro, 275 S Charles Richard Beall Blvd #107, DeBary, FL.
