Betty Ann Barr

Betty Ann Barr, age 82, a resident of DeLand, Florida, passed away on March 23, 2026, at Parkside Health and Rehabilitation in DeLand. She was born on February 14, 1944, in Kenwood, Pennsylvania, to George Zello and Elizabeth Sapara.

Betty worked as a machinist for Sherwood Medical and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She enjoyed reading and watching tv or movies, had a deep love for cats, and was a woman of strong faith who held her beliefs close throughout her life.

She is survived by her only child, Deborah Barr (Bill); her brother, George Zello Jr. (Patty); her niece, Melanie Bright (Austin); her nephew, Douglas Popson (Katie); her ex son-in-law, Joe Robertson; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Zello and Elizabeth Sapara; her longtime partner of 44 years, Lawrence Ervin Rigdon; her brother, Richard Zello; and her sisters, Mary Lou Popson and Dorothy Flanagan.

Betty will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her, her enjoyment of life and her hardworking nature.
