Betty Jean (Walker) Jones

Betty Jean Jones, 83 of DeLand passed away February 16, 2024 at the Halifax Heath Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City. She was born in Gainesville, Florida on July 8, 1940 to Sherman and Frances Adeline Walker, and was a lifetime resident of DeLand. Betty was a banker at Florida National Bank and a member of Stetson Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching NFL, college football and MLB games and most of all, she loved spending time and being with her family. Betty was predeceased by her parents and her husband Marvin E. Jones, Jr. She is survived by her son Marvin E. Jones, III (Amy) of DeLand; daughter Michelle D. Hopkins (Rusty) of DeLand; brother Robert Walker (Betty) of Altoona, FL; Sister Connie Esau (Ron) of San Jose, CA; grandchildren Brooke Bailey (April), Kelsea Jones, Derek Hopkins and Monica Jones and great-grandchildren Scarlett Campbell and Adalyne Campbell. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23rd at 12 noon at Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand, with a visitation from 11am-12noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand.
