Billie Beach Jr. Obituary

Billie Rex Beach Jr., 68, of Orange City, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. He was born on July 19, 1957, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Billie Rex Beach Sr. and Yvonne White Beach.

Billie grew up in DeLeon Springs, where he attended DeLeon Springs Elementary School and T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School. He lived the majority of his life in Orange City. He was Mama’s little boy and his daddy’s best friend, and he loved aggravating his big sister, Liela, who he adored.

After graduating high school, Billie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as an aviation crash crewman and emergency medical technician. During his service, he earned the Rifle Marksman Badge, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal, and Meritorious Unit Commendation, and he served overseas before receiving an honorable discharge.

Following his military service, Billie dedicated 24 years to the Florida Department of Corrections at Tomoka Correctional Institution, where he worked his way up to the rank of Captain. After retiring, he continued working for 15 years in security with Farmers Insurance before fully retiring.

In his retirement years, Billie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an animal lover who especially enjoyed feeding his squirrels, and he loved spending time with his grand dogs—Phoenix, Denver, Piglet, and Miss Kitty. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, attending his grandson’s football games whenever he was able, and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, and Macie. He also stayed closely connected with his great nephews, Dane McKiernan and Rylan Best, and his great nieces, Everly Best and Indie Best, often talking with them on the phone.

Above all else, Billie was a devoted father and a man of faith who loved Jesus. He adored his daughters, Constance and Chelsea, and was endlessly proud of the women they grew to become. He was a hands-on father who spent their early years taking them to extracurricular activities. After working all day, he would faithfully drive hours round trip to visit his daughters while they were in college, ensuring he could be with them in person to celebrate their birthdays over dinner. He never missed a game or important event and would do whatever it took to be present for the moments that mattered most. He played dolls and Barbies with them, made forts with his daughters, and was their safe place, offering love, comfort, and unwavering support. Even as adults, he continued to care for them in the same way, always asking when he called if they had eaten, if they needed anything, or if there was anything he could do to help. He made it a priority to call or text them daily, always offering encouragement and guidance, and teaching them the true meaning of unconditional love.

Billie will be remembered as an intelligent, reserved, dependable, and kind man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved telling silly stories and jokes and was known for playing practical jokes on those around him. He had many friends and genuinely wanted the best for everyone. He treated others with care and respect and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His most cherished roles in life were being a father and grandfather, and he fulfilled them with unwavering dedication.

He is survived by his sister, Liela (Monty) McGee; his daughters, Constance (Tony) Elam and Chelsea (Pete) Beach; his grandchildren, Taylor Elam, Brooke Shibla-Elam, and Macie Elam; his nieces and nephews, Heather McKiernan and Ashley (Mike) Best; his great nephews, Dane McKiernan and Rylan Best; his great nieces, Everly Best and Indie Best; his best friends, Gerard Gallucci, Tim Dreggors, Gary Carwile, and Mike Myers; and Melissa Beach, the mother of his daughters.

Billie’s life was defined by his love and service to others. He will be deeply missed. He will be remembered for his service to his country, his love for his daughters, grandchildren, and family, and forever remembered by all those who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will include Monty McGee, Jeff Malmborg, Tim Dreggors, Gerard Gallucci, Pete Smith, Tony Elam, Dane McKiernan, and Taylor Elam.
