Bobby Ray Thomas, born March 17, 1935, became our angel on July 16, 2025 surrounded by his big, loving family at home.
Bobby was born in Scottsville, Kentucky, and his family moved to Miami, Florida when he was a child.
He married his childhood sweetheart and served in the US Navy. He enjoyed woodworking and painting beautiful country scenes from his memories in Kentucky.
The Bible says, “Love is patient, love is kind.” This is how he lived his life, and taught us by example. He was generous, and gave so much to all of us without thought for himself. He was the perfect loving, kind and gentle soul. He was a true man of faith who knew where his eternal home would be.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary, and his loving companion, June. He is survived by his two daughters, Pat Davis (Dick) and Jeannie Spillers (Mike); four grandchildren, Micheal, Nadeau (Mindy), Suzanne Bateman (Jason), Kristal Clifton, and Robbie Spillers (Amy); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Autumn, Kaitlyn, Tristan, Breanna, Collin, Emma, Austin, Bianca, Rielynn, Kamryn, Grady, Parker, Noah, Nolan, Aaliyah, Sam, Rohan and Andrea; and his five great-great grandchildren, Liam, McKenzie, Alyson, Adriel, and Collin.
A viewing and memorial service will be held at 11AM on July 28, 2025 at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand, Florida to celebrate Bobby’s life.
