Brenda Gayle (Albright) Rickels

Brenda Gayle Rickels was born in Brodhead, KY May 20, 1941. She married Charles Rodger Rickels on June 5, 1959. Brenda became a Christian in her early thirty's while attending a little country church just outside Mt. Vernon, KY called Freedom Baptist Church. She resided in Mt Vernon until the summer of 1976 when she, her husband Rodger and their four boys moved to DeLand, FL. Brenda enjoyed being with her family at the beach in those early Florida years. She went to work in DeLand at a medical manufacturing plant in 1979 called Sherwood Medical. She retired from this plant in 2004. In her mid 40's Brenda began attending the Liberty Baptist Church in DeLand, FL where she became involved in the following ministries: piano player, nursing homes, nursery, fellowship committee, Ladies Prayer and Care and faithfully cleaned the church auditorium just days before entering heaven. Her hand truly "clave to the sword" until the Lord called her home. Mother enjoyed her little animal friends she spent time with each day. A parakeet called, "Beeker Bird" and her latest, a coon she called "Bandit". Our dear mother loved each member of her family in a special way. A hug, with little pats on the back followed by her words, "bless your little heart" will always be remembered. The last decision she made in her life wasn't for herself but for her family. She loved us like Jesus loves us - sacrificially, unconditionally and eternally. Through faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour, we will gather in the sky to be with her forever and forever.
