Carl Allen Carey

On October 25, 2023, Carl Allen Carey, 84, of DeLand, peacefully passed away at AdventHealth Hospicecare in Orange City. He was born on October 8, 1939, in Cashtown, Pennsylvania. Carl dedicated his career as a maintenance supervisor at Florida Lutheran Retirement Center and was an active member of the community. He was deeply involved in the DeLand Shrine Club and was a respected Mason. Additionally, Carl had been a devoted member of the Lutheran Church since 1972.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Carl was a loving husband and father, having shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Carolyn. He is survived by his four children: Christine Singleton (Wayne), Conway Carey (Kim), Chad Carey (Diana), and Cheryl Pry (Michael). Carl leaves behind a legacy through his 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished him dearly.

Carl's warm presence extended even to his beloved dog, Mitch, who brought him immense joy and companionship. The family plans to honor Carl's memory through a memorial service, details of which will be shared at a later date. Carl's kindness, dedication, and love will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.
