Long time DeLand resident Charles 'Chuck' Thompson died on May 5th, 2025 at Advent Hospital after a brief struggle with Cancer.
He was predeceased by his father Colonel Walter A. Thompson, his mother Bette B. Thompson and younger brother Stuart P. Thompson (Chris).
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Petra Northcott Thompson, daughter Jessica L. Hayes (Liston), son Jeffrey W. Thompson (Stephanie); godson Cameron M. Miller; and grandchildren Ethan, Mattie and Kate Thompson; Kelsey and Claire Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was devoted to his family and took special pride in his grandchildren.
Chuck was a graduate of DeLand High School and the University of Florida, where he studied Political Science and Journalism. He served as an Airman (A3C) in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from November,1967 to April,1973. He was a former Realtor who wrote many articles expressing his political views. His friends remember his wit and humor, his inquisitive nature, and his unfailing willingness to help others. You could always count on a good story from him. He was a 'history buff' and enjoyed nature photography.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 21,2025 beginning at 11:00 AM at LifePoint Community Church at 1747 W. New York Ave. DeLand, FL 32720.
Per his wishes a private family Burial is planned.
