Charlotte “Fern” (Johnson) Martin, age 87, passed away on June 15, 2026. She was born on January 11, 1939, to Alfred Johnson and Myrtle Converse and grew up in Eagleville, Connecticut. She graduated from Windham High School in 1956.
Fern spent most of her life in Storrs, Connecticut. She was a long-time employee of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines in Connecticut, where she dedicated 34 years of service before retiring early and moving to Florida.
In her younger years, Fern enjoyed driving her Corvette and other muscle cars and had a lifelong appreciation for hot rods and classic automobiles. Following her retirement, she relocated to Spring Hill, Florida, in 2005, where she lived in the Regency Oaks community, formed many lasting friendships, and remained grateful for the wonderful people she met there.
Fern cherished her family and had a special love for her nieces and nephews, who brought her tremendous joy throughout her life. She treasured the time spent with them and remained a loving and supportive presence in their lives.
Fern is survived by her sons, Scott C. Martin (Amy) and Brian C. Martin (Bernice); her sister, Kay McClelland; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Deborah Lalashuis, John McClelland, Bill McClelland, Laurie Haas, Jimmy McClelland, and Cindy Clark.
