Cheryll Newcomb Obituary

Cheryll (Sherry) Newcomb, 72, of Deland, peacefully departed for heaven from her home in Deland on April 29, 2025. Born on October 6, 1952, in Camp Roberts, California, she embraced life with love, passion, and unwavering faith.

Cherished by all who knew her, Sherry shared 32 beautiful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Arthur Newcomb. She dedicated her career to serving as a School Bus Driver for Volusia County, ensuring countless children traveled safely to their destinations. Her love for music, NASCAR, and fishing brought joy to her days, and she remained a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Barberville.

Sherry was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Loyd Nelson and Bobbie Harrison Nelson, who preceded her in passing. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Kim Eisenbarger (John Eisenbarger), Dixie Roche (Shannon Roche), and Randy Newcomb (Amanda Newcomb). Her grandchildren, Tiler Eisenbarger (Leann Eisenbarger), Tawnee Eisenbarger (Mike Voss), Christopher Newcomb, Suni Fristachi, Randilyn Newcomb, Daniel Kraushar (Marcella Kraushar), and Christian Hamblin-Roche (Julia Hamblin-Roche), will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was also blessed with eight wonderful great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Barberville, located at 200 E. Broad St., Barberville. Following the service, family and friends are invited to share memories over a Covered Dish Dinner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Barberville, PO Box 97, Barberville, FL 32112, in honor of Sherry’s unwavering faith and dedication.

Sherry’s kindness, strength, and love will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
