Dan McCormick, 69, of DeLand, FL, passed away on November 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 18, 1955, Dan was a lifelong resident of DeLand and a man known for his steady kindness, his sense of humor, and his deep devotion to the people he loved.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Karen McCormick, and later found companionship and joy with his life partner, Donna Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle DeCosta (Ryan); his stepson, Brandon Worrall (Amanda); his granddaughter, Payton McCormick; and his grandchildren, Brandon and Brenna Worrall.
He was the son of the late Daniel and Kate McCormick and grew up in a bustling, close-knit family. He is survived by his brothers Donald McCormick and Jerry McCormick, his sisters Nancy Gillette, Debra Virgin, and Susan Barrs and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Johnny McCormick and sister Mary Lakin.
Dan loved the simple joys of life—spending quiet mornings on the water fishing, walking the woods during hunting season, and, most of all, being with his family. He cherished every moment shared with his children and grandchildren, who were truly the center of his world.
A graveside service will be held on November 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at DeLand Memorial Gardens, with a reception to follow at his daughter Danielle’s home. All who loved Dan are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
