Donald Lee Lockwood, age 90, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on June 29, 2026. He was born on July 26, 1935, in Anderson, Indiana, to Lester Lockwood and Lillian Johnson.
Following college, Donald began his career in education as a principal in Indiana. After relocating to Florida, he served as an assistant principal, principal, and teacher in the Orlando area.
Donald enjoyed bass fishing and took great pride in his Ranger boat. He also enjoyed elk hunting in Montana, was an avid reader, and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Murlene Lockwood; daughter, Michelle (Chip) Perling; son, Michael Lockwood; stepdaughter, Sheila (James) Payne; stepson, Randy Glenn; grandchildren, Cheyenne Perling and Andrew (Shema) Lockwood; step-grandchildren, Emma Payne and Brayden Payne; and great-grandchildren, Levi Lockwood and Rin Lockwood.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, 126 E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL 32724.
