Donna Cox Busbin

Donna Sue (Cox) Busbin passed away January 29, 2024 at the age of 69. Donna was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, Nana, and Great Nana. Donna was born on November 2, 1954 to loving parents Walter and Nadine Cox. She was a lifelong resident of Pierson except for a short time that she lived in
Georgia. That’s where she met and married the love of her life and her soulmate, Ricky Busbin. They had 45 loving years together. Donna and Ricky had four beautiful children Eric (Corina) Allen, Tracey (Lisa) Allen, Amanda (Randall) Newcomb and Ricky (JoAnna) Busbin and she was blessed with 12 Grandchildren:
Kayla Kopp, Michael Kopp, Sammy White, Heather White, Garrett Allen, Hanna Allen, Christopher Newcomb, Suni Newcomb Fristachi, Randi Lynn Newcomb, Tyler Busbin, Kali Busbin, Gemma Busbin and 6 Great Grandchildren: Kiara Fristachi, Charlotte Carter, Easton Carter, Tucker Carter, Phoebe White, and Draco Damron. Donna loved and cherished her children and grandchildren very much. Donna has numerous nieces and nephews that she also loved very much. Family meant everything to her.
Donna was a beloved sister to Janie Cox North, Charlene Cox Boggs, Tommy Cox, Billy Cox and Amanda Cox Bontrager. She was a second mother to thousands of children throughout her many years of driving a school bus for Volusia County Schools. So many of those kids are grown now and they still talk about how much they loved her.
Donna was a kind and generous person with a sweet spirit. She was always willing to help anyone who needed anything. She worked tirelessly canning the vegetables that Ricky grew in the garden. Her fried chicken was the best!!
Donna was predeceased by her parents Walter and Nadine Cox, nephew Dennis North and nephew Austin Cox.
A funeral service to honor Donna’s life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Barberville Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 10:00AM to 11:00Am, service will be at 11:00AM followed by graveside service at Pierson Methodist Cemetery. Following the graveside service everyone is invited back to the church fellowship hall for food and fellowship. Someone will be at the church to receive food on Thursday morning.
