Edwin P. Carson

Edwin Carson, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 93 on May 5, 2024. Edwin and Gwen were married for 63 years. He was born and raised in DeLand and served in the Navy for 3 years. He graduated from Stetson University with a degree in physics. In his early working days, he enjoyed working at the local radio and television stations as an engineer. He truly loved his 30 year career with Lockheed as a Systems Test Missile Engineer. After retirement he was also an active member of the DeLand Naval Air Station Museum. He had a passion for researching the history of DeLand and beekeeping. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Allen-Summerhill, DeLand. Viewing from 10:00 am to 11:00 am then to follow the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Methodist church in DeLand or your favorite charity. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
