Eileen Gertrude Palme, 87 of DeLand passed away January 24, 2026 at Certus Premier Memory Care in Orange City. She was born April 24, 1938 in Newark, NJ and came to DeLand in 2022 from New Berlin, NY. Eileen was a Catholic and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, gardening in her vegetable and flower gardens, crocheting and sewing, and traveling, especially family camping trips. Eileen loved her family and caring for her grandchildren and loved participating in her girl's “Club”. She was known for her witty sense of humor and her compassion for others. She was predeceased by her grandson Andrew Coyle. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 70 years, Edward R. Palme; her four daughters Karen Coyle (Andy) of New Berlin, NY, Patricia Polimeni (Joe) of New Berlin, NY, Tammi Polise (Joe) of DeLand, FL and Sheryl Dugan (Kelly) of DeLand, FL; brother Walter McCormick of Freehold, NJ; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
