Esther Priscilla (McCoy) Coffield

Esther P. Coffield, 91, of DeBary passed away December 28, 2025 at AdventHeath HospiceCare in Orange City. Esther was born to Blanche Marie Canterbury McCoy and John Devere McCoy at Proctorville, Ohio. She is survived by her husband Bill Coffield, and her five children, Karen Cochran, Sherrie Wiget, Connie Gunnels, Charles Fisher Sr., and Timothy Fisher.

She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Esther was the lone survivor of seven siblings, the siblings were William McCoy, Verma McCoy, Vera Ashcraft, Darlene Nehrer, Samuel McCoy, and Paul McCoy. Esther spent most of her adult life in Columbus, Ohio as a magazine editor and working various times for state legislators. In 1982 she met Bill Coffield in the Ohio Statehouse. They were married August 3, 1985. For 38 years they have lived in Central Florida.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
