Evelyn Caroline Kehrley of 100 years young, passed peacefully at her home on Monday March 28, 2022. Evelyn was born on May 3, 1921 in Liberty, New York to the late Leland and Florence Kline. She grew up with her two brothers, Russell Klein and Irvin Kline on their family farm in White Sulfur Springs, NY. Evelyn attended Ithaca Bible College. She was united in marriage to Percy Frank Kehrley on October 19, 1940 at Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty, NY. Together they had seven children, Dennis Kehrley, Marilyn Evans, Joan K. Carter, Carlton N. Kehrley, Percy Daniel Kehrley, Judith Gerard and Robin Smith. Early in her career Evelyn worked for the New York Telephone Company. After selling the family farm they moved to Orange City, Florida in 1958. She worked as a Nurse and with Percy’s Construction company. Later in life, Evelyn attended Daytona Beach Community College and earned her certificate as a Realtor. Evelyn dedicated her life to her family, church and community. Evelyn was blessed with her 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family, nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of Open Bible Baptist church in Orange City for 50 years and served as a Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher. She visited church members and friends in nursing homes regularly. Evelyn enjoyed travel including camping at national parks with Percy, her trip to see Jerusalem, traveling across the United States and summers in her NY cabin. She was a healthy woman who throughout her life enjoyed swimming and bicycling. In her later years, she enjoyed working out at the YMCA with the Silver Sneakers Club, which kept her young. She is our family’s own “Price is Right” star. Evelyn is preceded in death: by her husband Percy, after 36 years of marriage; parents Leland and Florence Kline; brothers Russel and Irvin; children Dennis, Percy (Danny), and Robin; sons-in-law Eugene and William; grandchildren Nathan and Tiffany. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Open Bible Baptist Church 2801 Grayson Street, Orange City, Florida. Viewing 1-2pm and followed by Service 2-3pm Burial will take place on Monday, April 4, 2022, beginning 11am at Hollywood Cemetery 1031 South Carpenter, Avenue Orange City, Florida. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home.
