Franziska M (Gates) Ramsey

Franziska M. (Gates) Ramsey of DeLand, Florida, died on April 9, 2025. She was born on December 24, 1938, in Germany to her parents Phillip Johan Bassermann and Franziska M. Kirsch.

Franziska was a kind, loving, and caring woman. She loved fishing, farming, and had a green thumb—she could make anything grow. Her gentle spirit and love for nature were a gift to all who knew her. 

A devoted wife, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donnie Barn Ramsey. She was also predeceased by her sister, Gertrude Platt, and her brother, Hanerisch Bassermann.

She is survived by her sons James (Kathy), Donnie (Dianne) and Michael (Amy); her grandchildren, Justin, Christopher (Katelyn), Jessica (Michael), Tyler, and Garrett; and great-grandchild Nolan.
