Frederick Lee Wood Sr.

Frederick Lee Wood Sr., age 75, of Baberville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Born on April 24, 1950, in Barberville, Florida, Frederick was the son of the late Preston Wood and Elsie Guess Wood. A lifelong resident of Volusia County, he was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a man of great character who touched the lives of many.

Frederick will be remembered for his kind and caring nature, his selflessness, and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He was a man who always put others before himself, and his genuine heart and warm smile left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Frederick loved the outdoors and cherished time spent fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed hosting cookouts and family gatherings, where he was happiest surrounded by those he loved.

He is survived by his daughter, Teri Jee (Thomas), and his son, Lee Wood (Megan); the mother of his children, Lois Coleman; two granddaughters, Caroline Camputaro and Madison Kathleen Wood; and two sisters, Bobbie Jefferson and Margaret Grimes.

Frederick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Wood, and his brother, Everett Wood.

A memorial service to honor the life of Frederick will be held on Saturday, June 28th, at First Baptist Church of Astor, located at 24731 Ann St, Astor, FL 32102.

Visitation and receiving of friends will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the service beginning promptly at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service. All are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating Frederick’s life.
