Geneva Pearl (Croft) Herring, age 94, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025. She was born on October 3, 1930, in McAlpin, Florida, to the late Daniel Martin Croft and Abbie Susan Goff.
A resident of DeLand, Geneva was known for her deep devotion to her family and her love of simple pleasures. She found joy in cooking, quilting, and gardening—always sharing her time, talents, and heart with others. Those who knew her best remember her for her incredible patience, generous spirit, and selfless nature.
Geneva was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Lemuel Herring; her son, L. Charles Herring, Jr.; and eight of her siblings: Ernestine Green, J.N. Croft, Myrle Dasher, Laverne “Punk” Croft, Dan Croft, Ferrell Croft, Derrell Croft, and Dean Croft.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Charlene McKenzie; her sister, Rosalee Burns; grandchildren Monaca (Matt) Campbell, Galen Herring, and Jonathan (Lisa) McKenzie; great-grandchildren Taylor (Casey) Barker, Tanner (Taylor) Campbell, and J.J. McKenzie; great-great-grandchildren Jase Barker, Truett Campbell, Jackson Barker, and Ada May Campbell; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. A graveside service will follow on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 9:00 AM at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
