George Thomas Willis

George Thomas Willis, age 72, passed away on September 2, 2024, in DeLand, Florida. Born on March 29, 1952, in Buffalo, New York, he was the beloved son of the late George Joseph Willis and Jean Marie O'Connell Willis.

George dedicated many years of his life working as a Computer Operator for the State of New York. Outside of work, George was passionate about the outdoors. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, fishing at Black Lake, NY, and deer hunting in Boliver, NY. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were the avenues through which he connected deeply with nature and his family.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 41 and a half years, Gail Willis, whom he met in Brockton, New York. He also leaves behind his brother, Gary Willis (Nancy), and his sister, Linda Szmanda. His life was a testament to the bonds of family, the love of nature, and the fulfillment of a career that served the public. His presence will be missed by all who knew him.
