Gerald Richard Adams Obituary

Gerald Richard Adams, 94, passed away on May 5, 2026 at Advent Health Fish Memorial. He was born on October 5, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.


He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. While in the Air Force, Richard had spent some of his time stationed in Japan.


Richard had his degree in Geology. He started his career as a geologist for oil companies working at rig sites logging wells. Richard also worked as a cartographer for the Defense/ Aerospace Industry. During his employment there, Richard helped map lunar orbits and lunar landing sites for the Apollo Missions.


Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing the dulcimer. Richard was a 17 year long member of the “Picky Chics and Chaps”. His years playing with this group was a source of pride for him, and he spoke highly and often of his “enjoyable times” with the group. He was a member at Presbyterian Church in Pampa, Texas.


Gerald was predeceased by Wife Levear Adams, his Mother Mildred Adams, his Father Gerald Adams and his sisters Darlene Spencer and Nancy Adams.


He is survived by his nephew Jim Cox.


A visitation will be held 10 to 11am, with a funeral service at 11am, all on Tuesday May 19th at Allen Summerhill Memorial Chapel, DeLand. A burial will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens.
