Geraldine Littler Obituary

Geraldine P. Littler, fondly known as Gerri to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2024, at her cherished 1921 Craftsman home in DeLand, Florida. Born in the heart of San Francisco, California, on December 27, 1945, to World War II veteran Gerald F. Page and Henrietta E. Page, Gerri was a beacon of joy and a pillar of her community.

Gerri's formative years were spent in the vibrant surroundings of San Francisco, but it was in DeLand, Florida, where she made her indelible mark. A proud graduate of DeLand Senior High School's class of 1964, she carried the spirit of her alma mater throughout her life. Gerri's early work as a soda jerk at the DeBary Pharmacy in DeBary, Florida, was a testament to her work ethic and her love for connecting with people.

Her career spanned an impressive 48 years at the DuPont-Ball Library at Stetson University, where she became an integral part of the institution's fabric. Gerri's dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her community, as evidenced by her active involvement in the Junior Women's Club and her passion for nurturing the next generation.

Gerri's interests were as eclectic as they were heartfelt. She was a member of the Glee Club in her youth and continued to express her creativity through needlepoint and macramé. Her love for owls and cats was well-known, and her garden was a testament to her green thumb and her connection to nature. Gerri's sense of humor shone through in her admiration for Kevin Costner, her chuckles over episodes of Magnum P.I., and her ability to laugh along with friends at her own witty remark, "LOL."

Her 1921 Craftsman Home in DeLand was not only a reflection of her aesthetic but also a sanctuary for friends and family. Gerri's generosity knew no bounds, and her home was often a haven for those who needed a place to stay. Her brother, Francis Dickinson Page, and her extended family will fondly remember the warmth and shelter she provided.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Gerri's love for her family, friends, and community deeply became a part of her, and she, in turn, became an inseparable part of the lives she touched.

The legacy Gerri leaves behind is one of unwavering love, enduring friendship, and the joy of living a life filled with purpose and laughter. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her contributions will be remembered by the many lives she influenced.

As we bid farewell to Geraldine P. Littler, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by kindness, creativity, and an unquenchable spirit that brought light to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
