Gertrude F Michaels

Gertrude F. Michaels, 97, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on April 20, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Michael Blake and Frances Lundy. Gertrude dedicated her life to her family and home, cherishing her role as a homemaker. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time in the casinos, always embracing a little adventure and fun.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Albert E. Michaels; her son, Stephen Michaels; her son-in-law, Terrence Healey; her three brothers; and two sisters. Gertrude was the last surviving sibling in her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Healey.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel, 126 E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL. A burial and committal service will take place the following day, Thursday, August 28, at 10:00 AM, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, FL 34734.
