It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert (Bud) John Gendron, Jr, 82 of DeBary, FL on April 21, 2024 at the Orlando VA Medical Center – Community Living Center. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on July 17,1941, son to his late parents Gilbert J Gendron, Sr and Alda M. Green. On May 19, 1979 he married the late Barbara Wordell, the love of his life. They married while standing by their 1935 red Chevy pickup truck at the 222 rod run in Attleboro, MA. They moved to Florida in 1980. Bud was an over the road truck driver as well as a car dealer. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, old cars, fixing anything, BINGO with the community, making jigsaw puzzles, and dinners with friends.
He is survived by his stepson David Wordell (Nancy) of Pawtucket, RI; stepdaughters Sandy Wordell (Tony Ludwig) of Winter Springs, FL and Linda Arcangeli (Bryan) of Stephens City, VA; 2 grandchildren Scott Rich (Amber) and Alexandrea Smoot (Tyler); 4 great-grandchildren Rebekah Rich, Skyla Rich, Dylan Smoot and Cody Smoot; brother Harold Gendron (Jackie); and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on June 3rd at 11:00 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 155 Clark St, Enterprise, FL 32725. Family and friends are invited to attend with a reception following the service.
