Gordon Herbert Davis passed away on Monday, October 28th, 2024 at the age of 88. Gordon is survived by his beloved wife, Gretchen and four daughters: Mari (Steve) Casey of DeLand, FL, Tracey (Jeff) Longacre of Port Charlotte, FL, Betsey (John Pyeatt) Davis of Wasilla, AK, and Amy (Jimmy) Register of Seville, FL. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy Gordon Davis. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Brandy Longacre, Christy Banks, Sam Pyeatt, Helen Casey, Meghan Register, Gwen Pyeatt, JT Davis, Ting Casey, Wil Register and great grand-daughter, Ozzy Rey Banks. In addition, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Gordon graduated from Bloomfield Central High School (New York) in 1954. He attended Alfred State College in New York. He proceeded to get his bachelor’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology while working at Stromberg Carlson. He continued with the company for 43 years.
He was actively involved in community and church activities in Rushville and Canandaigua, New York. After moving to Florida, he continued to be active in family and the Glenwood Presbyterian Church. He loves attending and volunteering at all his children’s and grandchildren’s events and activities. His hobbies included traveling, woodworking and playing poker with the guys. Gordon was a devoted family man. He was a man who never said no when something needed to be done.
A memorial service will be held at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. J. Lawrence Cuthill officiating.
