Hallie Ann (Glenn) Witcher, age 86, went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 30, 2025, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on September 26, 1939, to Clifford Monroe Glenn and Edna Eunice Woods Glenn.
She was the youngest of four children. While Texas was her birthplace, Hallie spent much of her childhood in the Panama Canal Zone where her father worked for the United States Government. While in Panama, the family began attending the local Baptist church. Hallie considered the most important decision in her life to be the day she accepted Christ as her Savior in 1948, and her faith remained vital throughout her life.
She loved being part of Pioneer Girls and Girls Auxiliary growing up, and it was at a church youth group that she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Lester Witcher, who was stationed at Albrook Air Force Base. She and Bob were married on June 14, 1957, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the summer after she graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone.
Following high school, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK, where Bob had started studying the year prior, and where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in 1960. The couple then briefly moved to Colorado, where Hallie began teaching at Kit Carson High School (1960–61) while Bob finished his degree, before moving back to Oklahoma where they welcomed their daughter, Tamera. Both she and Bob then obtained their master’s degrees from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK. Hallie continued to teach in local high schools (Mangum High School 1964–66, Cache High School 1966–68, Lawton High School 1968–70) until God called their family back to the Panama Canal Zone.
Hallie and Bob spent 18 years in Panama, where Hallie taught at Cristobal High School (1971–89) until they returned stateside and built a home in Citrus Springs, FL. There they lived for the next 25 years together, enjoying the births of their three grandchildren and teaching at Dunnellon Christian School (1990–92; 1994–98). Her grandchildren remember fondly visits to her school, trips to Disney, and floating down the Rainbow River together.
During her life she played the violin and piano, was an avid reader, and loved a good jigsaw puzzle. She and Bob enjoyed many trips to National Parks and never hesitated to make long road trips to spend time with family. She and Bob shared 57 years of marriage and a strong walk together in Christ, including through the challenges of Bob’s 10-year battle with dementia until his passing on November 11, 2014. Following several years of widowhood, Hallie joined the Alliance Community, where she spent her remaining years among friends and fellow believers.
She leaves behind her sister, Edna Lois Brown; her daughter, Tamera Lee; son-in-law, Todd Andrew William Graham; three grandchildren, Lara Elizabeth Berklite, Erica Christine Seabold, and Robert Witcher Graham; and five great-grandchildren, Edward, Tallis, William, Tristan, and Teasley. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, including Carol Leigh Smith Dixon, whose kindness and support were a great comfort to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; sister, Carolyn Eunice Johnson; and one brother, Stanley Fielding Glenn.
