On June 3, 2025, God in His infinite wisdom, called Inez Dean home to be with his angels. Affectionately known as “Elaine”, she was a loving soul, who cherished everyone in her presence. She was full of life, energy and positivity, lifting others up at every opportunity. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. She was born on March 12, 1946, in Buff Bay, Jamaica, to Ethel Williams and Zephania Brice. She was educated in Jamaica before moving to the United States in 1970. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Penn Medicine for years in Philadelphia while caring for her four girls. She moved to Deltona, Florida in 1992 and married the love of her life, Byron Dean on 11/07/1992. She began working at Debary Manor Nursing Home and retired from Orange City Nursing and Rehab Center in 2011. When she wasn’t in her garden, she could be found completing crossword puzzles and cooking meals, from simple to elaborate and then would end the day watching WWF or Gunsmoke. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her departure leaves and immeasurable void in the lives of all who loved her here on earth. She was preceded in death by her son Peter and grandson Richard. She leaves to cherish her husband of 32 years, Byron Dean, four daughters, Nadine, Collete, Deborah and Denise. Five grandsons, Gene, Christopher, Steven, Quinton, Isaiah and Nicholas and two granddaughters, Dianna and Kierstin. She also leaves three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends in both Jamaica and the United States. Although Elaine’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirt will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all we do . The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all who supported us in her last days. Your support at this difficult time was very much appreciated and a great comfort to the family. We will never forget your kindness and love. Sorrowfully, The family
