Iris Welch Obituary

She liked to be called Lucille. She was born in Baxley, Georgia on August 13, 1937. She passed away on June 7, 2024 at Halifax Hospice in Orange City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother Ina and her father Lonnie, her husband Paul, to who she was married for 49 years. Her son Kevin and her grandson Keith, her brothers Vyrl, Vernon, Roy, Alvin, and Coy.

She is survived by her daughter Kim Clements (Stan) from Quitman, Georgia, and her son Barry from Deleon Springs, Florida, her brother Lamar (Marsha) from Jackson Mississippi. She has 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many other friends and family. Lucille had a heart of gold and was always trying to take care of others. She loved each and every one of her friends and family. If you ever visited her home, you never left hungry!

She loved garage sales and shopping for all kinds of sales. She loved traveling and visiting friends and family. She loved going out on Sundays with her sister-in-laws to eat lunch. She always had a wonderful time at the reunions, both for the Gamble family and the Welch family. She loved to read and watch the Gaithers and Daniel O’Donnell on Saturday night. Everyone who knew her loved her just as much as she loved them and will forever be touched by her presence in their lives.
