James Louis Footman

James Louis Footman, 82 of DeLand passed away May 6, 2024 at his residence. He was born on March 5, 1942 in DeLand and was a 1960 graduate of Euclid High School in DeLand, James served in the United States Army from 1967-1970. After leaving the Army, he was a bus driver for the New Jersey Transit, serving the city of Maplewood, New Jersey. James moved back to DeLand in 2008 and enjoyed bike riding, fishing and jogging. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carrie; daughters Jamillah N. Footman, Rasheedah Footman and Libra Harris; brothers Ralph Williams and C.J. Williams; sister Theola Footman; grandchildren Joshua, Khairi, Samiyal and Rabiyah and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 11:30am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand. Burial with military honors will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
