James Marvin Heuck, 87 of DeLand passed away November 8, 2017 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City. He was born on August 28, 1930 in Stuart, FL and grew up in Fort Myers, FL. He graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1948 and received his Bachelor's in business/marketing from the University of Florida in 1956. Jim was the director of human resources at West Volusia Memorial Hospital and a member of Stetson Baptist Church. His family was the most important part of his life along with his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He enjoyed his church, camping, water skiing, and boating was his all time favorite, especially with his family. He also enjoyed B.S.F., his remote control airplane club, photography, golfing with his buddies, bowling, playing tennis, hunting, motorcycle riding and too much more than can be listed. Jim enjoyed life and sharing it with his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl Peter Heuck and Irene Eleanor Heuck and brother William Glenn Heuck. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Blackburn Heuck; daughters Jennifer (Bill) Kelly of DeLand, Susan (George) Gilhooley of DeLand, Karen (Spencer) Quilling of DeLand and Nancy (Stephen) Gould of DeLand; 11 grandchildren Beverly Kelly, Stephanie Kelly-Thompson (Trent), Alison Gilhooley, Andrew Gilhooley, Kevin Gilhooley, Rachel Quilling-Hensley (Tyler), Raymond Quilling, Lauren Gould-Lind (Jared), Jeffrey Gould, Sarah Gould-Stiemann (Kyle) and Emily Gould and 6 great-grandchildren Cora Ware, Isaac Ware, Levi Thompson, Julian Stiemann, Cirdan Lind and Beorn Lind. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10th from 5-7pm at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand. Services are private. Online condolences may be made at
