Janet Kollinger Byard

Janet Kollinger Byard, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Friday April 28, 2023. Born June 16, 1938 to Joseph and Jean Kollinger in East Orange, NJ, in 1943 the family moved to DeLand. She was an active member of TRI-HI-Y, Drama Club, Glee Club, Speech Club, and a DeLand High School Class of 1957 graduate. She continued her studies at University of Florida in Gainesville. She became a buyer for several department stores including Macy's, as an international buyer traveling the world.

Standing only 4'11, she was always known as a dynamo. She enjoyed playing bingo, checkers, and was an avid reader. She was also a Florida Master gardener and loved her plants.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother Bruce Kollinger. She is survived by her sister Willo and Glenn, both of DeLand; nieces Cara, Jenai, Michele; nephews Dustin and Joel; plus 10 great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11am at the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand.
