Janita “Chris” Taylor, 57, Deland, Fla., passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Chris was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Caregiver.
Chris worked at Lake County Schools as a Route Manager.
Chris began her school board career in 1998 as a School Bus Driver. She worked hard and excelled over the years and became a Drivers Trainer. Chris went on to fulfill her long-term goal to become a Transportation Route Manager with Lake County Schools. Chris was a hard worker. She was an honest and fair leader.
Chris loved with her whole heart. She would do anything for anyone. Many came to Chris for guidance and answers. Those who truly knew her loved her.
Chris loved to sing. She recorded as a backup singer when she was just a teenager. She also loved to read Books. Chris loved her family and attending family gatherings. Chris grandchildren meant the world to her.
Chris was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on November 17, 1967, she was the youngest daughter and child of James and Christine “Wilma” Akers, both of whom preceded her in death. Also proceeded in Death a sister, Margaret “Gina” Vest, a brother, Alan Epperson and a granddaughter, Peyton Taylor.
Chris is survived by her Husband, David Taylor whom she married on April 2, 1988 and one sister, Kimmie (Thomas) Hebrock, Deland, Fl.
Also survived by one daughter, Carrie Taylor, Deland, Fl., and 3 sons Steven Taylor, Tavares, FL, Jason (Alicia) Taylor and Dustin (Airis) Taylor, Deland, FL. Along with two granddaughters, Aria Lozada, Deland, FL., Isobelle Duncan, Paisley, Fla., and 3 grandson’s Trenton Taylor, Umatilla, FL., Ely Taylor, Trenton, GA. and David “Little David” Alcott, Deland, FL and many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews
Chris will be dearly missed by her family and friends to never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Primes McGrit will be held for Chris on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Roblee’s Residence, 25425 County Road 42, Paisley, FL 32767. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory.
