Jean Serena Johnson Price Miller, aka “JJ” has taken her final journey to her Heavenly Home, reuniting with her beloved husband, James F. Miller. Born October 7, 1931 to Atty./Judge Jordan Johnson and wife Mary Elizabeth Vaught. Predeceased by James F. Miller, parents, Jordan and Mary Elizabeth Johnson, sister, Helen Brakeman Pankey, brother, Edward M. Johnson (Rosemary), daughter, Roxanne Jean Price. Surviving her death, daughter, Lucia Kay Price, son, Mathew Lee Price (Joseph), brother, James M. Johnson (Diane), sister, Nina Kornstein, step-children, Rebecca Groves, Deborah Adams, Sharon Gaus and Bradley Miller (Kathleen), eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A devoted Christian, she was a charter member of LifePoint Community Church and active for many years, sharing her love for Jesus Christ with everyone. She attended Swendenborg Academy for girls, Bryn Athyn, PA her Freshman year high school and graduated from St. Ann's High School, W.P.B., FL, followed by attendance at Palm Beach Junior College and Brevard Community College. She was a State Notary for 42 years, and Administrative asst. for Palm Beach Schools Administration, Banking Trust, Atlantic Natl. Bank, and to the President of Lawrence Pharmaceuticals, finalizing her career as Asst. Manager of LK Motor Inn, a property owned by her husband and five partners, in Titusville, FL. She was active in Pilot Club of Titusville, Business Women's Club, and received the Key to the City of Titusville for “putting Titusville on the map” while a Director for the Chamber of Commerce. She joined the DAR, Daughters of the American Revolution, Indian River Chapter and upon moving to DeLand transferred to the Colonel Arthur Erwin Chapter remaining current also with the DeLand Museum of Art and Guild. Moving to Orange City prior to DeLand, she was a Director of Finance for the Orange City Library Association, for President Carson Blue and was a Past President of the VIA, Village Improvement Association. She enjoyed reading, gardening, music, singing, dancing. She joined the Sunshine Express Barbershop group and for many years entertained at nursing homes, for veterans, and local community groups, including the opening of the Daytona International Airport. She wants to be remembered for her deep love for her family and close friends, they all brought her joy and contentment, She has a fulfilled life and thanked God for His Goodness and Love. Instead of flowers please donate to the LifePoint Community Church, the Christian Broadcasting Network and the DeLand Art Museum. The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 10am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with visitation from 9:30-10am prior to the service.
