Jeanne Bosco Obituary

Jeanne Amelia Blackburn Bosco, 81, passed away March 24, 2023, with her family by her side. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, with a celebration of her life to follow at the Whisperwood Club House in DeLand. Jeanne was a kind and thoughtful soul who made friends wherever she went, with her incredible sense of humor and loving spirit.
She loved shopping, garage sales, boating, waterskiing, camping, and traveling with her friends and family members. Jeanne was born Dec. 11, 1941, in Steubenville, Ohio, the week Pearl Harbor was attacked. She always jokingly said it was two disasters in one week. She went on to graduate from Ashtabula High School in 1959, and attended Kent State, before joining her parents, Wilbur and Lola Blackburn, in DeLand in 1963. Not long after her move, she met her soulmate, Bill Bosco, on the Daytona Beach Boardwalk. They married in 1965, and were separated only by his passing in 2007. Jeanne and Bill had three children, David, Linda and Sarah. Jeanne worked at Florida Bank throughout the 1970s, then found her place working at Stetson University's International Business School program, where she enjoyed meeting diverse populations of students, many of whom remained lifelong friends. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Jeanne and Bill were lifelong travelers. Along with a large group of friends and family, Jeanne traveled to Austria, Ireland, and all over the United States, always making time to make trips with her sibling to her home state of Ohio. Jeanne leaves behind a brother, Neal Blackburn of St. Petersburg; three children, David Bosco (Jill), Linda Gregory (Randy) and Sarah Campbell (Jim); five grandchildren, Randy Connelly (Whitney), Lita Keeley (Jessica), Grant Bosco, Reid Bosco, Cody Maki; one great-grandchild, Killian Keeley; and a large extended family.
