Johnnie William (Buddy) Gamble
DeLand, FL
Johnnie (lovingly called Buddy by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren) passed away February 10, 2024, under the wonderful care of Majestic Oaks, John Knox Village in Orange City, Florida. He was also under the care of Halifax Hospice.
Johnnie was born on November 5, 1944 in Palataka, Florida to the late Mary and Vernon Gamble. Johnnie graduated from Taylor High School in 1962. He served four years in the United States Air Force and earned an A.A. and A.S. degree from Seminole Community College. Johnnie retired after 39 years of work from Florida Power and Light Company, Sanford Plant. He was an instrument and control specialist. Most recently he worked for Lowe’s Store, DeLand, Florida.
Johnnie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patsy. Four children, Cindy Tuten (Stan), Sherri Zona, Keith Gamble (Dawn), and Kami Brown (Sean). Eight grandchildren, Michael Gamble, Benjamin Zona, Aimee Jarrell (Jasmine), Tori Housley (Shane), Ireland Brown, Sydney Brown, Nicholas Tuten and Kylee Tuten. Six great-grandchildren, William Schwass, Ava Zona, Ali Zona, Amelia Schwass, Grace Zona and Laci Housley. One sister, Barbara Peacock (J.T.) and one brother Greg Gamble (Raye).
To all who have given kind words and loving prayers, we say “Thank You”. Most of all to God, our Heavenly Father, who gave Johnnie peace, a peace that can come from only Him, when Johnnie began his journey to Heaven, we say “Glory be to God, we will praise Your Holy name forever.”
