Judith Lee (McCullough) Phelps, age 86, of Pierson, Florida, passed away on December 25, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1939, in Bunnell, Florida, to the late Ray McCullough and Clarice Malphurs.
Judith devoted her working life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Above all, she was a family-centered woman whose greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. Her love for her family was constant and deeply felt, and her presence will be missed.
She is survived by her children, James Johnson, Jarice Strickland, and Joshua Johnson (Norma); her grandchildren, James Johnson, Odessia “Jenna” Johnson, Cassia Strickland, Jewel Swilley (James), Christopher Strickland, Joel Strickland, and Jaden Johnson; and her great-grandchild, Jemma Swilley. She is also survived by her sister, Clarice “Petey.”
Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 30 years, Dwight Phelps, with whom she is now reunited, as well as her siblings, Danny and Suzanne.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pierson Methodist Cemetery, located at the corner of North Pine Street and East Washington Avenue in Pierson, Florida.
