Kathaline E Salzano

We are sad to announce the death of Kathaline Salzano on October 4, 2023 at the age of 81.

Mrs. Salzano was born April 29, 1942 in Staten Island, New York, and resided in Orange City, Florida. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (née Lee) and Joseph (Earl) Lambertson.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Michael Salzano, her son Michael K. Salzano, her daughter-in-law Maureen, her grandson, her brother Joseph Lambertson, and her family and many friends.

Mrs. Salzano served the public with a distinguished career in the New York City Police Department, following in the footsteps of her father, grandfather, and several other family members. She served in the N.Y.P.D. from June 1968 to November 1994, when she retired with the rank of Detective 2nd Grade. She was the recipient of several awards and honors for her outstanding service, dedication and courage as a police officer.

In 1972, in a male dominated job, Mrs. Salzano along with her partner Lucille Burrascano became the first female patrol partners in N.Y.P.D. history, breaking barriers. They worked in the 77th Precinct in Brooklyn, New York.

After her retirement, Mrs. Salzano was active in many volunteer and community activities, including serving as a guardian and child advocate for Florida Guardian ad Litem.
