Katherine A. (Hummer) Fess

Katherine A. Fess. 81 of DeLand passed away May 7, 2023 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City. She was born on August 6, 1941 in Los Angeles and came to Florida from South Carolina. Katherine was a realtor and a member of Stetson Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and her dogs. Katherine was predeceased by her husband DeWayne Fess in 2019. She is survived by sons Kenneth Fess and Keith Fess; daughter Deborah Fess; grandchildren Chelena Fess, Bryson Fess, Samantha Fess, Taylor Fess and Carson O'Shields and great-grandchildren Scarlet Fess and Silas Hinesley. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 10am at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with the family receiving friends from 9-10am prior to the service. Burial will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims.
