Larry Gene Browning

Larry Gene Browning, age 79, of Falmouth, KY, passed away at his home in Orange City on Thursday, July 2, 2026.

Born on August 28, 1946, in Falmouth, KY, Larry was the son of the late William and Wilma Browning. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Tommy, Mike and Billy Browning; and his sister, Barbara Blades Browning.

Larry is survived by his children, daughter Hope Browning Noga (Harry Noga) and his son Scott Browning (Lisa Browning) and their mother Connie Browning. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Hawk and (Taylor) Noga, Hayleigh Noga, Coral Browning (Chris) and Jacob Browning. Also, a great grandson Bennett Noga. Nephews Hagan and Coy Browning and Ricky Blades.

A proud graduate of Pendleton County High School, Larry proudly served in the United States Airforce from 1965-1969 stationed in Germany where he served in the Strategic Air Command.

After his military service, Larry relocated with his family to Deltona, FL, where he helped establish Browning Service Center and Convenience Store. He served the Deltona community for over 40 years, earning a reputation as a dependable and generous member of the community. In retirement, Larry lived in Opp, Alabama and raised horses before returning to Orange City, FL in 2021 to live with his family.

Larry was a lifelong outdoorsman with a passion for coon hunting, horseback riding, fishing, raising chickens and talking to anyone and everyone he could. Known for his cowboy boots and hat, Larry never met a stranger and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends and just a few chickens.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

His celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at 11:00 am at the DeLand Elks Lodge #1463, DeLand, Florida. Donations can be made at American Heart Association or St. Jude in his memory.
