Louise Timlin Foster, Tim, as she was known, born October 31, 1937, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2024. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Foster and her three children, Timlin (Roger), Galen (Henry), and Griffin (Bailey) and her sister, Jane (Gerald). She is predeceased by her parents and one sister, Nancy.
Tim was born and raised in DeLand, and no matter where she lived, DeLand was always home. Afterall, she met her soulmate, Robert, while attending DeLand High School. Dating off and on all through high school and while she attended college at Centre College in Kentucky; they married December 22, 1958 and spent the next 65 years together.
Being married to a West Point graduate meant a life of travel and adventure. She lived in places such as Alaska with their 2-year-old daughter, and Washington, DC where the second daughter was born, before settling back in Florida where Bob was in law school and later practicing law when the third child, a son was born. In all these places, Tim had a way of making any place a true home, one that Bob couldn’t wait to come home to due to her great cooking and homemaking skills.
She was a woman who loved the arts such as painting and music. She was a voracious reader and master of crossword puzzles while also enjoying family fishing trips. Always one to join in and socialize, she belonged to several bridge clubs where she had wonderful friends and could play a wicked game of cards. Friendship was so important to Tim. She had many friends throughout her life, from garden club days, and as far back as kindergarten class!
As is the way of life, Tim faced her share of challenges, and it was her determination, fantastic sense of humor, and love for her family that helped her through all life’s ups and down. Her extraordinary toughness and positive attitude alongside a wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh, will carry on in many hearts.
Celebration of her life will be at Venue 142 in DeLand on March 23rd, 2024 beginning at 4:30 pm. Don’t forget to bring a photo, memory or a funny story to share with all.
