Mahalah Danae Nelson

Mahalah Danae Nelson, age 16, of DeLand, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2025, at Arnold Palmer Hospital. She was born on October 15, 2009, in Sanford, Florida, to her loving parents, Erica Hinsch and Michael Nelson Jr.

Mahalah was raised in DeLand, where she was deeply loved by her family and friends. She was a bright and caring girl whose life, though far too brief, was filled with love and meaning. The love she shared and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved  her.

She is survived by her parents, Erica Hinsch and Michael Nelson Jr.; her grandmother, Jeffi Hinsch; her siblings, Malachi, Marleigh, McKinley, Mia, and Junior; her aunt, Jessica Hinsch; and her uncles, Tad Hinsch, Jeremy Hinsch, Eli Hinsch, and James Hinsch, all of whom will carry her memory with them always.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel, located at 126 E. New York Ave., DeLand, FL 32724
