Margaret McCullough Avila, age 80, a resident of DeLand, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2026. She was born on March 30, 1945, in Georgia to the late James McCullough and Becky Padgett McCullough.
Margaret truly lived her life “like a rockstar” and was always the center of attention wherever she went. She had a vibrant spirit and a generous heart. She enjoyed gambling on the machine at her son’s bar, fishing, and, most of all, spending time with her family. If you ever called Margaret needing anything, she would be there without hesitation, always offering her help and support.
She is survived by her son, Tate Tapscott; her grandchildren, Jimmy Sutton and Garrett Tapscott and wife Alyssa Tapscott; and her great-grandchildren, Tyson Tapscott, Felicitee Tapscott, Emmett Tapscott, and Paisley Sutton.
