Mary Lou Gilbert 6/23/1932 – 9/7/2025 of Orange City, Florida

Mary Lou,93 passed away peacefully at home, and surrounded by her loving family on September 7, 2025. She was born in Petrolia, Ontario, Canada on June 23, 2932 the daughter of Cecil and Effie Bennett. She married her loving husband Norman Gilbert in 1950, they were married 72 years. Mary Lou had many talents including playing the piano and singing with her beautiful voice. She was an excellent caring nurse for many years as she took care of others in the hospital and nursing homes. Always there was a smile and willingness to help. Preceding her death are her parents, Cecil and Effie Bennett. She will be greatly missed by her brother Kenneth Bennett and by her children: James Gilbert and his wife Cheryl, Susan (Gilbert) Peter and her husband Dirk and Thomas Gilbert and his wife Mary. She had 6 grandchildren, Olivia (Gilbert) Beck, Sarah (Gilbert) Cassidy, David Henige, Robert Henige, Christina Young and Katie Kaufman and her 5 great-grandchildren. Per Mary Lou's wishes she has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida at a later date.
