With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Willard Garred Sr., who left us on December 13, 2024, at 81 years of age. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he will be deeply missed by all who know him. Michael was born on October 23, 1943, in Jackson, Michigan, and grew up in Michigan Center, Michigan. Michael's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. He served in the Navy for roughly five years and, during this time, met his future wife Monique in Canada, a memory that he cherished dearly. Michael is survived by his wife of 61 years, Monique Garred; his sisters, Judy Ann and Betty; and his children Thomas, Nathaly, and Michael Jr.; one niece; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. His love for his family and beloved pets was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He loved listening to music and making gifts for his loved ones. Michael was also creative in the kitchen, often concocting meals with unique flavors. One of his most endearing traits was his playful way of expressing love. He always said, "I love you more". As we say our goodbyes, we want him to know that we love you most, Dad/Popops. Our love for you will endure, just as your love for us will always be remembered. Your love, Dad/Popops, will continue to guide us in our lives. Rest in peace. You will be forever missed and always cherished.
