Obituary

It is with deep sadness we bid farewell to our oldest brother Mike who passed away peacefully on Aug. 30th at the age of 70. He was the beloved eldest son of the late Albert & Pauline Maggs.

Mike had resided in Deland, Florida for the last 10+ years but considered Boston "home".  We will always treasure Mike's love of family and friends and the happy memories he had with both.

Mike loved sharing stories of his younger years, his love for anything Boston always seemed to come up in conversations according to his friends.  "Maggs" as he was affectionally called had a passion for scuba diving when he was younger as a PADI scuba diving instructor, he certified many students during that time and was very proud of the fact that he was able to be involved in rescue dives with the Quincy Dive Team.  In later years, Mike showcased his talent as a Marketing Specialist, bringing creativity and innovation to his work.

Mike especially enjoyed talking with friends old and new which always lifted his spirits.  He found excitement in playing poker and had a deep-rooted love for his beloved Red Sox and New England Patriots.  Whenever he returned home from Florida, he cherished spending time with his loved ones in Boston and at the beach.  Michael had a knack for sharing the funniest stories, bringing laughter to every gathering.

Mike is survived by his two sisters Suzan Maggs-Rota her two daughters Nicolette and Michelle; his devoted Goddaughter Dianne Byron her husband Rich their children Sydney and Hunter of Plymouth, MA were not only his family but also his pride and joy.   Uncle Mike adored them and supported their endeavors in cheer, basketball and work with unwavering love.   Mike also leaves behind, two brothers Robert and Stephen and their families, along with many cousins and friends near and far.

Thank you so much for the prayers, kind words and assistance from family and friends old and new that helped to enrich his life.  Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.   RIP brother you will be missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in honor of Michael at a date to be determined.  This gathering will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share stories and remember the incredible person Michael was.
