Norma Jean (Frey) Godwin

Norma Jean "Mama G" Godwin, born on April 13, 1945, in Palatka, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, in Salt Springs, Florida. She was 80 years old.

A woman of unwavering faith and strength, Norma Jean was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. Her deep-rooted spirituality was nurtured through her connection with Christian Community Assembly, where she found both solace and community throughout her life.

Norma Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Godwin, and her brothers Raymond Frey and Edward Frey. She is lovingly remembered by her son, Billy Godwin (Tina), her brother, Alfred Frey; and her nephew, Brad Frey. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Known affectionately as "Mama G," Norma Jean was admired for her strong will and steadfast faith. Her presence was a source of comfort and guidance to her family and community alike.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Community Christian Assembly located at 235 W Washington Ave, Pierson, FL 32180. A reception will follow after the service at the church's fellowship hall, please bring a dish.
