Patricia Stead died from complications from dementia at the age of 84 on December 19, 2025. For the past 20 years, she resided in DeLand, Florida, surrounded by family and friendships developed at the Y. A member of St. Peter’s Church, she volunteered her time at two food pantries. A generous and warm woman, in her final years she lived at Grand Villa of DeLand with their attentive and caring staff and where Vitas Hospice provided additional care in her last months. Over a forty-year professional career, Pat worked as a paralegal expert in commercial real estate law for Prudential Insurance in Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Germantown, Maryland. Pat loved her cats, gardening, Disney, and traveling with family and friends, often returning to her beloved home state of Michigan. Pat is survived by her sisters Jacqueline Sheridan and Genevieve Wangsness (Roger) and her adored nieces and nephews, Kimberly Sheridan Rinna (Chad), Alison Wangsness Clement (Matt), Brian Wangsness (Christy), grandnieces and nephews, India Brown Warren (Blake), Terence Brown (Kami), Andrew and Zach Clement, Carson and Preston Rinna, and Kara and Katy Wangsness. Her niece Bijali Wangsness, nephew Christopher Wangsness, brother-in-law Charles Sheridan, and her parents Bill and Jane Stead pre-deceased her.
Celebration of Life services in Florida and Michigan will be announced later.
